A geriatrician has completed a residency in Internal Medicine or Family Practice and continued on to fellowship training in the medical, social and psychological concerns older adults may have.
Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group geriatricians promote health by preventing and treating diseases and disabilities in older adults. There is no set age at which patients may be under the care of a geriatrician. Rather, this decision is determined by the individual patient's needs.
Our providers understand the needs and concerns of older adults and work with their patients to maintain the highest degree of autonomy. The medical needs of midlife adults may differ from the needs of older adults. Our geriatricians recognize the specific need to improve their patient’s quality of life while potentially treating multiple medical problems at the same time.
